How SSY grows

You deposit for the first 15 years. For the next 6 years you deposit nothing, but the balance keeps compounding. That quiet stretch at the end adds a large share of the final amount, which is why starting when your daughter is very young makes such a difference.

The SSY rate is reviewed every quarter and applies to the whole balance, so the final figure will move with future rate changes. This calculator assumes today's rate holds throughout.
